Candidate Privacy Notice

This notice explains how Chicago Food Corp. ("we", "us") collects, uses, shares and deletes personal information from people who apply for a job on this website.

This notice covers job applicants only. It does not cover customers, people who contact us through other forms, or newsletter subscribers.

You must be at least 18 years old to apply through this website.

When you apply, we collect what you give us:

• Your name and email address.
• Your phone number, if you choose to enter one.
• Any message you choose to write.
• Your résumé file and everything in it.
• The job you applied for, and the date and time you applied.
• Whether you asked us to keep your application for future openings.

Our hosting provider may record technical information such as your IP address in server logs. We use it to keep the application form safe from abuse.

We do not need your Social Security number, date of birth, photo, or similar details to consider your application. Please leave them out of your résumé.

• To review your application and decide whether to interview or hire you.
• To contact you about your application, including a confirmation email when you apply.
• To keep the records that federal and Illinois law require employers to keep.
• To protect the application form from fraud and abuse.
• If you asked us to, to consider you for future openings.

We do not use your application for marketing, and we do not add you to our newsletter list. We do not use automated tools or artificial intelligence to screen, score or rank applications.

• Our HR staff and the managers who help with hiring. HR staff may keep copies of an application, including your résumé, in company email accounts (Gmail) while they review it.
• Service providers that run our systems for us: Google (Firebase and Google Cloud, which host and store applications, and Gmail) and Resend (which sends our emails). They may only use your information to provide those services to us.
• Authorities or other parties, when the law requires it or to protect our rights.

Applications submitted on any of our company's websites are stored on the same system. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising.

We keep application records for 2 years after the hiring decision, then delete them. This includes copies held in company email accounts. If you are hired, your application becomes part of your employee file and is kept under our employment-records practices.

You can ask us to delete your application sooner. We will, unless we are required to keep it. For example, federal and Illinois rules require employers to keep application records for at least one year, and we must keep records connected to a legal claim or complaint until it is resolved.

You may ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your request to be considered for future openings. Email admin@chicagofood.com from the address you applied with, so we can confirm it is you. We aim to respond within 45 days.

Applying is voluntary. If you do not give us the information we ask for, we may not be able to consider your application.

Applications and résumés are stored in a private database and private file storage. They are not publicly accessible, and only authorized staff who sign in to our admin system can open them. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.

We may update this notice. The version and effective date are shown at the top of this page, and the version you acknowledged is saved with your application. This notice is provided in English; if a translation is offered, the English version controls.
